Privacy Policy
NetWork is a professional network for people working in IT. This policy explains exactly what the app collects, why, where it is stored, and how to get it deleted. It describes the app as it actually behaves — if something below stops being true, this page gets updated before the change ships.
Who is responsible
NetWork is operated by an individual developer. For any privacy question, or to request deletion of your data, contact:
dev.bluecrystalstudios@gmail.com
What we collect
- Name — shown on your profile and on anything you post. Required.
- Email address — account identity and sign-in. Required.
- User ID — links your data to your account. Required.
- Profile photo — shown on your profile. Optional.
- Profile details — your role, location, skills, what you're looking for and what you can help others with. Used to match you to roles and to other members. Optional.
- App activity — roles you save or apply to, the status you record on each application, your follow-ups and your private notes. Used to build your pipeline and your search statistics. Required for those features.
- Content you create — posts, comments, circle membership and skill vouches. Optional.
What we do not collect
- Location. The app has country, state and city filters, but those are values you type or select. The app never requests or reads your device location, and holds no location permission.
- Contacts, calendar, SMS, call logs, or files on your device.
- Advertising identifiers. There are no ads and no ad SDKs.
- Analytics or crash reporting. No third-party analytics SDK is present in the app.
- Financial or health information. Salary figures shown on listings come from the employer's own public job posting, not from you.
Where your data is stored
Two places, and only two:
- On your device. A local database holds a copy of your profile, your pipeline and the role catalogue so the app works without a connection. Uninstalling the app removes it.
- Google Cloud Firestore, part of Firebase, which provides the sync and sign-in. Google acts as a data processor on our behalf. See Firebase's privacy documentation.
All traffic between the app and Firestore is encrypted in transit using TLS.
What we share
We do not sell your data, and we do not share it with third parties for advertising or any other purpose.
Some of what you create is visible to other members by design — this is a network, not a private notebook:
- Your profile, including name, role, skills and what you're looking for
- Posts and comments you write in the feed or in circles
- Skill vouches you give to other people
Your pipeline, your application statuses and your private notes on applications are never visible to anyone else.
Job listings
Roles shown in the app are synced from employers' own public careers pages (Greenhouse, Lever, Ashby, Workday and similar). Applying to a role takes you to the employer's own website. We do not send your profile, your application or any personal data to those employers. Anything you record about an application in NetWork is something you typed yourself.
Notifications
If you enable job alerts, matching between new roles and your saved searches happens on your device, and the notification is generated locally. Your saved searches are not sent anywhere for the purpose of alerting you.
Your rights and choices
- Access and correction. Your profile is editable in the app at any time.
- Deletion. Email the address above from your account's email address and we will delete your account and its data within 30 days. Full detail of what is removed and what is kept is on the delete your account page.
- Withdrawing optional data. Photo, bio, skills and intent fields can be cleared at any time without deleting your account.
- Notifications. Can be turned off in the app or in your device settings.
How long we keep it
Your data is kept while your account exists. When you delete your account it is removed from Firestore. Local data on your device is removed when you uninstall the app.
Children
NetWork is intended for working professionals and is not directed at anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
Security
Data is transmitted over TLS and stored in Google Cloud Firestore with access rules that restrict private data — your pipeline, your notes, your saved searches — to your own account. No system is perfectly secure, and we don't claim otherwise.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it. Material changes will be announced in the app.
